False: The Russian army has surrendered in Donetsk!
Although there have been stories of Russian soldiers surrendering, none have been independently verified or have been reported as having occurred in eastern Ukraine. The post provides no evidence to support its claim. The Ukrainian government has also not publicly said anything about Russian soldiers surrendering in Donetsk. In fact, Putin has announced Russia is annexing the region. (Source: Politifact)
Manipulation: German Foreign Minister: Ukraine Support More Important than German Voters
Annalena Baerbock’s quote was taken out of context and distorted. The German Foreign Minister did not say that support for Ukraine was more important than the interests of her own voters. Baerbock stressed that today, with the near onset of winter and rising energy prices, the task of European politicians is to provide maximum social support for their citizens, but also provide unconditional solidarity to Ukraine for as long as it takes. False: Russian suicide bombing after announcement of partial mobilisation in 2022
After Moscow announced in September 2022 that it would call up some 300,000 reservists to fight in Ukraine, a video was viewed tens of thousands of times in social media posts that claim it shows a suicide bombing in Russia that targeted a recruitment officer. The claim, however, is false. While there were protests against the "partial" mobilisation in Russia, this video has circulated since at least 2021 in reports about a bombing in Syria. Myriad Factors: Trudeau drops COVID Vaccine Mandate because 9 in every 10 Covid-19 Deaths have been among the Triple/Quadruple Vaccinated
Did Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau drop Canada's vaccine mandate because nine in every 10 COVID-19 deaths have been among the vaccinated? No, that's not true: The Canadian government made no such claim in the announcement of its plan to end the vaccine mandate for people entering the country. It did cite several other factors, however, including Canada's high vaccination rates and lower hospitalization and death rates. (Source: Lead Stories)
False: Complications From Covid-19 Vaccinations Are Causing US Military Pilots to Crash And Navy and Marine Corps Aircraft Have Been Grounded
Are complications from COVID-19 vaccinations causing U.S. military pilots to crash, resulting in the U.S. Navy and U.S Marine Corps grounding all aircraft after crashes in California killed six people in September 2022? No, that's not true: According to a U.S. Navy Spokesperson, the entire claim is "untrue." There are also no such reports in reputable news sources of any such scenarios in California during that time period. (Source: Lead Stories)
False: A 1956 video warned about COVID-19
A black-and-white video circulating on social media includes a description that might surprise people who first learned about COVID-19 in, well, 2019, when the first cases were reported. "This video was made in 1956," reads text appearing over the video. "Cronavirus info in video must watch." The video in the post is a clip of a longer video posted on YouTube in February 2020 with this title: "1950s PSA: ‘Avoiding the Future Plague.’ (Source: Politifact)

False: Climate change is caused by the sun and moon, not emissions
In a video viewed more than two million times on Twitter, British meteorologist Piers Corbyn claims lunar and solar phases -- not carbon dioxide emissions -- are driving climate change. This is false; experts told AFP that scientific consensus indicates human-caused greenhouse gases are the primary reason for global warming. (Source: AFP Fact Check)

Påstanden er usann: En britisk rapport viser at dødeligheten per 100 000 er lavest blant de uvaksinerte i alle aldersgrupper
Slik starter en artikkel publisert på de alternative norske nettstedene Steigan.no (arkivert her) og Derimot.no (arkivert her) 16. august. (Source: Faktisk)
